Do you have to change the carrier on the 30 on all regears?

You boys back east are getting jacked. $2200 is outrageous!

My guy out here charged me 250.00 per axle. I picked up the gears, install kits etc. His garage is a speed shop, he rebuilds rear all the time for muscle cars and drag racing.

Factory e-lockers? If you have another thread going on this install could you point me at it? I haven't seen anyone putting them in non-rubi axles and I'd like to follow the progress.

$1700 in Ontario Canada from good reputation shop.

Sorry echo, think I'm confusing myself. The factory limiteds are trac-locs, and the rubi elockers are tru-locs, and the detroit limited is a truetrac, just hadn't heard about a detroit tru-loc. Too many similar freaking names going around.

Get your gears from www.northridge4x4.com; David sells em' cheaper than anyone else and if you don't know what you're ordering, call him and he'll stear you the right way. $500 for a full gear rebuild kit, both axles; and they're Yukon gears (good stuff). Then....call around locally and get pricing on the install. The gears should take 5.24 hours and should price out at about $550 per axle. If a shop won't take your gears and insists on using their vendor, keep looking, they're just trying to mark you up on the gears. The pricing and hours I got from High Country 4x4 here in Denver; bar none one of the best shops in the Rockies and good, honest folks. $1600 for gears and install is fair. It's not as cheap as Backyard-Bob's Istall-a-porium, but typically you get what you pay for. There are garage guys out there that know how to do it, but especially on the Rubicons, if they don't put the locking actuator on the correct side of the plate, then you'll blow your locker on the second tire rotation.

Good luck.

Nope only for the 3.21 stock gears 3.73 and numerically higher can reuse the stock carrier.

I was afraid of the install overall because of the e-lockers. That's kind of why I wanted a dealer to do it but Metro was the only one around that would do it.

I probably would have used the guy Bosox used, however, we were not aware of him until a few months after my install was complete. nevertheless, I love the 5.13's and glad that a dealer is giving me a warranty on my e-lockers (not Chrysler but the dealer...my warranty basically voided on my e-lockers from what I've read).

Best mod of I've done. 4-low is a whole new animal now!!
Do you have the manual or auto?
