Rear Solid Diff Cover warning
So I was wheeling this past weekend. I installed the D44 Solid diff cover a few weeks back and noticed the rear track bar just barely cleared the new cover on even pavement. (I would assume most aftermarket covers would be the same)
I was a little concerned about clearance under flexing conditions but didnt think much of it until such a time came.
Well this weekend comes around and I get hung up on a steep mogul. I get out to assess the situation and noticed the track bar has ground its way into the cover, making a little notch for itself.
Even worse I noticed my rear passenger shock had snapped! I cant say for certain, but Im curious if the track bar got hung up on the diff cover, it somehow caused undue stress on the neighboring shock. I cannot pin point exactly when and what happened exactly, I only noticed after assessing this obstacle. Im fairly certain the damage occurred before this obstacle and I somehow missed it.
For those wondering, I have a Rubi Express 3.5" Superflex kit with 35s. The rear track bar does have a relocation bracket. So still unconfirmed as of yet, but I believe some combination of all these elements caused the shock to snap.
RedRock 4x4 is not open today, otherwise I would have inquired if the Bilstein "custom valved" shocks were warrantied. I have no problem paying for my own self inflicted damage, I was just curious if there was any kind of warranty on them at all.
Pics can be uploaded tonight of the damage and the rubbing on the cover. Dont have access to the GFs camera at work.
Edit: Sorry I meant Track Bar. Also Sorry for the other duplicate post, tried reloading page due to the website updates

he has to mean track bar. I noticed my adj. full traction bar rubs just enough to scratch the finish on dynatrack diff cover. I also get mild rubbing on the passenger spring as well.

He definitely means track bar, and i have had the same problem with the cover. I have a "SOLID" D44 rear cover and the track bar has rubbed a nice notch into one of the fins that protrude from the cover. No issues with the shock, and it seems to not rub any more now that it has worn in
I Dont think they are related. There is no physical contact between the two parts. What exactly broke? My cover is also a issue with both the stock and aftermarket track bars I have tried. I cannot believe that the companys building these bars are not smart enough to have put a larger bow in the bars. JP

Track Bar. Sorry I had sway bar in my head. I was googling lynch pins for the sway bar discos when I posted.
I assume I cant ride around too long without that shock? Theres some noticable sag on the right rear.
Superlift seems to be the cheapest out of the bigger names. Any reason I shouldn't cheap out?
Although from the pictures its hard to tell if any of them will clear the new cover. Sounds like at least the Full traction wont clear?

I had the same trouble with my stock rear track bar and a Superlift eXtreme Ring on the diff. There was contact for a day or two, then the diff guard shaved enough of a notch into rear track bar to clear it.
Now that I've replaced my front and rear track bars with Full Traction adjustables, I've got the same problem (though not at bad). I'm going to talk with the FT guys at the Off-Road Expo this weekend and see what they think I can do. I'd like to keep the eXtreme Rings, especially if other aftermarket guards like SOLID will cause the same problem.

Thanks for posting those pix. I was getting ready to buy a 3" lift with adj track bars and the Solid diff cover. Anybody know if there is a cover that doesn't protrude as far or is the blame on the curve of the bar.
