If I could have picked up rubi axles w 4.10's I would have, also think 4.10's would be good but since I was going to spend money on the regear I went with 4.56's so I can jump up to 37's in the future if I decide.

No, not really. I still get about 14.5-15.5 but I can drive at 70 without down shifting and I end up getting a little better mpg if I'm going 60-70. Also remember I am running some very heavy tires along with aev bumpers winch and it's a jku

Default i hear ya 4.56 would be good

wiggle room to go to the 37s ill even say if I had to regear like him id go to 4.56 @ most
that's why I bought the rubicon my sport had 3.21 gearing in 2011 so I traded it in just to avoid all the crap of regearing and then be thinkin bout axles and lockers whathave you I prefer to stay on 33s for my needs so im fine or if I go 35s im still fine and theres plenty that have 410s and 37s but that's way stretching it I think but , again subject to opion . that guy with the crush and 488 looks like hes in it for
hardcore and the op is looking for dd so like you 4.56 would be a great choice my 33 trail grapplers weigh 85 lbs with wheel each x5 most 35s don't weigh that so 35s or heavy 33s 410s do well I can go 100 if I felt like it but im not into speed 6th gear it just opens up and you can go like a bastard in the 6 speeder

Yeah, that's about what I have seen. (Oddly enough, gearing is quite similar between a 3.8 w/ 6spd and a 3.6 auto). I thought that was important to point out to the op that the regear is great for drivability, but it's still a brick in the wind at highway speeds. Although my wife thinks its getting better gas mileage now.

4.56 is a perfect choice for 35's on a 2012 DD JKU. 4.10 would work, but figure with the extra weight of accessories 4.56 would give you that extra pep needed. If you were only rock crawling then 4.88 gears and 37's would be the better choice!

4.56 probably is right for your application. I have a 2012 JKU that is on the heavy side at around 6000 pounds and a six speed. I swapped to 4.88 gears on 35 inch trail grapplers and it is perfect for my application. I dont typically do much highway anyway and with 3.73 I had completely lost the use of sixth gear. I did this for another reason thou as well. The slightly tighter ratio gives me a slower crawl with the non rubi transfer case. This really makes my gears very useful for off road again for my application. Honestly I probably should have went with 5.13s for when I toss on 37s. Good luck with your choice and search.

Remember the 6 speed does not have the same final drive ratio as the auto

Personally if I had an auto I would have went with even tighter gears even thou the final ratio is a bit lower. If you set your shift points up correctly and match your torque converter to your application who cares how much your auto shifts really. The added performance down low and in town would make up for the bunch of extra weight I have on my rig for sure.

Need to get this slug moving!

Any suggestions? Thanks!
Probably can't go wrong with either 4.88 or 5.13. I went 4.56 on my 33" tires and would like to have gone to 4.88s which would give me a better option to upgrade to 35s one day. I hear 5.13 can be small on a dana 30 front.
