The knob is pressed on, no threads. There is no bolt underneath the shift plate.

Ok has anyone figured out for sure how to remove the new shift knobs?...i've tried everything aside from literally ripping it out which is what i'm about to do since it is frustrating me so much.

Also, once removed if there are no threads how do you get/make threads to add a different knob?

Just a quick tip for removing the shifter knob. Get a large adjustable wrench and tighten it up so it is just a tiny bit loose on the shaft below the shifter knob, then hold it tight up against the bottom of the knob and take a BFH and hit the wrench in the upward direction. A couple of good hits and the knob will pop right off.

I am not too sure about using a large wrench or a BFH around my knob.

Default Shift Knob

Don't want to beat a dead horse (or tear up my stock knob unneccessarily) but has it been confirmed that the stock knob is NOT threaded and just "pushed" on? --Therefore requiring only a "great" force to pull the knob off??

Thanks, I'm new to all this..

according to the factory service manual for the T-case knob:

"1. On 4x4 vehicles grasp the transfer case shifter knob and pull straight up and remove the knob. "

Having trouble finding how to pop your knob for the auto or manual shaft.

You're going to put this on aren't you?

Note, I don't think this is technically a competing vendor so I think I am safe with the rules
