Litegrip.com is working on a billet push on knob (no threads) for the JK. Talk to John.

Here's the deal from someone who has done it. I posted the post everyone is talking about. I have a universal T handle B&M, don't believe it! So your pull the top half of the shift knob from the body. Use something thin to go between them at the seam. Then there is another lower seam below where the shift lever inserts into the center of the knob, pry that lower trim ring from the bulk of the shift knob, pull the shift knob straight up on the lever. The lever has a notch about an inch long on one side. It is not threaded. I have not been able to find a shift knob that is large enough for the factory lever. Please pm me if you find one.

Does anyone have the diameter measurement for the manual tranny shifter shaft, and the t-case shaft? I'd like to supply that to Flameball to see if their spline adapter will work. Thanks.

Default Custom Shift Knob

I placed a towel around the shaft, then attached a channel wrench just under the shift knob, then hit it gently with a rubber mallet...... and it popped right off -- no problem.

Then I had to drill a hole in the bottom of that custom knob. hole was a hair over 1/2" wide and I made it it 1.5" inches deep. fit very tightly on.

I also painted the lenses green to match the exterior.

Back when I did my bodylift I was amazed that a 12" Crescent and tapping with a small hammer popped both of these into my back seat with ease

Great helpful post.
