resetting TPMS
I just put my new wheels and tires on. Had new sensors put in them. They are now 315/75/16. My chime and light are still coming on.
I have read that others have gone to the dealer and had the TPMS reset. Any feedback on how this is done and what it should cost?

My dealer said they have to flash the computer to "learn" the new sensors. They said they would charge $35. When I had my new 35's mounted with new sensors Les Schwab said they could do it for $20. They are still sitting in the shop so I dont have first had experience.
They shouldn't need flashed unless your running lower air pressures. Air them up 2-3 pounds over then drive it a few minutes. If the light goes out you can then lower the pressure to what it says in the manual or door.

From what I have heard the computer needs to know the serial numbers of the sensors in your 5 wheels... if not it would be picking up signals from every other vehicle out there with sensors. When I heard it I thought it made sense.
If you relocate your stock sensors and run the same pressure you shouldn't have to do anything.
