RIPP Engine Integrity Question
I think I wouldda asked Dan to be more specific and gotten to the bottom of it first. I think as much as RIPP participates right here, if there were problems, 1) we'd already know about it and 2) RIPP would be bustin his ass to do somethin about it. Just my two cents.
good ole internet. In a month you will hear guys on the trail talking about how RIPP gets 900 3.8l engines a month straight from Jeep cause Burnsville couldn't keep up with all the ones they were blowing.

That is the truth! Unfortunately.... but that is the internet for you
I do not have RIPP, and honestly it is not on my list, but darn - this title is scary - imagine me 6 months from now remembering "yeah - I saw a thread on the forums about stuff blowing up, I am not buying it". You need to go through the messages to understand what is going on, but a quick glance on the thread list creates a really bad and lasting impression and unduly so.

I chose the title of the thread to bait people to come into it. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough in the first post or later on when I reitterated what I was actually getting at and that was that I believed what was said to this particular person was said for the express purpose of steering someone away from RIPP and towards a hemi. Clearly, I didn't word things properly if that part didn't get noticed. Mainly I wanted RIPP to come in and say that in fact what was said wasn't accurate. With as many people on the forums as there are, and nobody had heard of a 3.8 ever having any problems, I found it odd when I got a PM from someone who spoke to Dan and he made it seem like that wasn't the case.
Since everyone seems to object more to the thread title than anything in the thread (perhaps some only read the title), let me see what I can do about changing it.

I want one. Probably never have the funds for a Hemi. All the support RIPP has given on here makes me feel that much more confident in getting one. I'm gonna do the install myself though, don't trust anyone with my jeep anymore. Hopefully I'll be able to get one mid or late summer.Gotta get my jeep back first.
The subject matter should have been researched a bit more before posting, in my opinion. What we have now is a he said she said he said and on and on. My guess is, since Dan at Burnsville is a professional, he never said such a thing, since obviously as RIPP stated, it is simply not true. That leaves us with your "friend" blowin smoke. .....and you chose to post up about it first, instead of investigating further. Oh well......if hindsight is really 20/20, I guess none of us would make booboos.

Check the time of the first post, I didn't exactly have the option of calling them (although somehow I think someone might have answered). This thread went off on a tangent I didn't want it to go off on. And before it goes away completely, I'd like to give a sincere apology to RIPP, for the confusion here. I've got an entire thread dedicated to my experience with their product and how positive the entire experience has been, so the last thing I wanted to do was imply it was anything but a great product. My main point, which got lost in the shuffle was that if someone is out there telling customers the RIPP product is damaging engines I wanted them to say that's not so. The thread I started apparently piqued someones interest on the RIPP kit, and they asked Dan about the RIPP supercharger and he tells them about selling RIPP a bunch of 3.8s? Clearly it was said, otherwise how else would he know something that was in fact true, that RIPP bought engines from Dan, which they acknowledged here and gave the reasons. To me, that's playing dirty pool to promote your hemi swap. And THAT was the main point of the thread. I asked for this thread to be deleted, so hopefully I'll get my wish, but I wanted to say that here so that nobody thinks mods swept things under the rug, etc...
From a manufactures standpoint though, if you see a title like that it gives you butterfly's - the boss didn't know what to say, nor did the sales guys. As a the tech I had no info on any blown engines so we had to read through it to get the real meat of the story... that's all we are really worried about.
We understood what you implied from the first post - but didn't expect it A post like that puts the whole place on red alert - we were all asking each other if each other knew something the other didn't know (if that makes any sense)
Especially since we are on top on our clients making sure everything is up to snuff. RIPPTECH
