ChrisLE,

That is one heck of an encouraging install ....

No check engine lights whatsoever ? No kinks to iron at all ?

Did your kit come with the BOV (Blow Off Valve) ? .... for the Swooosh - Hissss sound

Cheers

Thanks, very informative OP and video (from RIPP). I do have a question: Glad to see that Benchmark dual-battery install in the video--I have that on order. But, how does the RIPP install with an AEV snorkel? The video refers to a CAI, but I know that I've seen reports of snorkels and the SC.

BTW: When I order mine early next year, I'll need that RIPP Supercharger decal in silver to match my other decals.

AEV snorkel does work with the Gen II kit. It is not recommended to run it all the time tho. See videos.

How much does the RIPP cost? Also should I regear to 5.13's before installing it?

This comparison isnt even practical. Who runs completely unfiltered? I'd like to see this with a CAI installed. If Ripp really wanted to make this work, they would make a watertight enclosure to house the CAI. It could have a removable top for on road use and seal it back up for offroad. Can't figure out what the resistance to making the Ripp work with the AEV snorkel is.

You dont run it unfiltered. The filter that come with the kit uses a simple hose clamp to attach. Remove filter and install hose to filtered snorkel, you can see the filter on top of the snorkel. Remove hose and install filter for on road. A screwdriver is all you need.

I do enough wheeling in water to warrant some form of water resistant enclosure. I'm going to have a friend who works at a fabrication shop work on something.

Saw other videos by Dynatrac (?) a few days ago mentioned that 30 HP. But, what is the real effect when the Jeep is moving at highway speeds (ram air induction)? I don't care if I lose 30 HP at slow speeds.
