ripp sc gen 2 w/ intercooler
Thought you guys would like an update. I emailed RIPP my questions at about 7pm EST. They responded in minutes! Those guys are awesome! I got what I needed and just fired up the Jeep. It sounds like a turbine under the hood, but all appears to be good. No codes, leaks or smoke! I will drive it tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.
Adjust the Blow Off valve to where 2-3 threads are showing, Non Intercooled kits respond better to a slower reacting BOV...

Santa came early to Chicago. I got my Gen2 today! It was boxed well and everything looks like it made it.
I worked on downloading the stock ECM config tonight. It is somewhat a pain to connect to a PC, update the software, etc., but not too bad if you know your way around a computer.
The Diablo is not as easy as Superchips to connect to a PC. It has a 9-pin serial connector whereas SC has a USB port. Most PC's don't have a serial port now days, so I had to use a USB to serial adapter. Fortunately I had one. The Diablo cannot get power from the PC either. It needs to be connected to the Jeep or powered with an external power adapter that does not ship with the kit. My power cable hasn't made it yet, so I had to update the software while in the Jeep, which was a pain since I don't have internet in the garage!
My ECM also had a newer version of the software than Diablo supports. I had to downgrade it before doing anything else. The version they support on my 2008 is 05187486AG and I had 05187486AH.
I sent my stock ECM file to RIPP to do their magic. I will do a full update on the entire process when I get the system installed.

Was there a box labeled 7778 in your kit? RIPPTECH

Have you guys done testing with the GenII and Long Tubes? Just wondering how many people that are considering the SC are considering just doing both---if possible.
I must say, while i was a complete skeptic of the first gen, this new kit is slowly bringing me over....might be time to buy soon! lol

I finally got mine out on the road today. The performance is outstanding. It drives like a V8. Low end torque/response is also much better than I expected. It is one of the best mods I've made. Headers may be next on the agenda.
I'm told by the guys at RIPP that Diablo is working on adding functions to make them more competitive with SuerChips.
BTW, I was able to change these setting with SuperChips even though I have the Diablo/RIPP tune installed. You don't have to apply a SuperChips tune to make TPMS, gear, etc. changes.
I'm always game for Pizza and Beer. Name the time/place and I'll be there!
I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't even consider the Gen1 Kit. No way I'd want to move the battery. The Gen2 kit rocks. It fits perfectly into the engine bay. It looks like it is supposed to be there.

Glad to hear your on the road and enjoying it - and thanks for the input, look forward to the 0 - 70 times.
The Diablo is a full on programmer for tuning the engine. It can do pretty much anything (advanced tuning, however, does require a Diablo certified tuner with custom software). It is currently limited in what it can do compared to Superchips with many other functions. It cannot disable the TPMS -- it will change tire pressures down to 10 PSI. It does not have a user setting to change gears. It does not have a setting to change the transfer case. It can change shift points, idle RPM's and many more engine functions.

I can use the superchips to capture speeds. It doesn't have a 0-60, but it does have 0-70. I'm going to run my supercharger in for a few days and will do a run when I'm confident that everything is running properly. I already captured the stock numbers. I can say with confidence that it is much faster. I blast off of exit ramps now and was able to easily get to 90 MPH. It is like having a V8 under the hood.
I'm always game for Pizza and Beer. Name the time/place and I'll be there!

No offense intended toward Gen1. It was a major technology advancement that got you to where you are today. I looked at the system, but had to pass because moving the battery was not possible for me. I have a Benchmark dual battery setup. It wouldn't fit up front. Dual batteries work perfectly with Gen2 -- although the dual tray makes changing the spark plugs a bi$%^.
