What about running 40s? Does all the extra weight and rubber start to lean one toward the hemis vs the SC?

I have 75k on the Jeep and 50k of that is with the RIPP. Makes a difference on the Highway, and you are aware of its reserve when you are off roading. RIPP guys are good and stand by their products. I have upgraded their original Gen 1 with a Gen 2 upgrade. Also have the headers as well...

The RIPP strikes me as being a very cost effective upgrade....but I've driven a 3/4 ton pickup with the 5.7VVT Hemi in it....and WOW. It made that big 'ol truck get up and MOVE. More than you really need in a Jeep? Yes. More than I want in a Jeep...nope

I bought one of these systems and to be honest it was a complete waste of money. From THEIR software blowing out 4 PCMs on my jeep (which the dealership confirmed on multiple times that their software was the issue) that i had to pay for out of my pocket. I tried getting help at the beginning of the issues and talked to Ross on multiple times. He likes to "out talk" you and make himself feel superior by throwing out bs specs or say all their jeeps work fine, or they have never had an issue. I am here to tell you Ross, YES YOU HAVE HAD AN ISSUE BECAUSE MY JEEP IS JACKED BECAUSE OF YOUR JUNK. Not to mention that the dealer that this unit was purchased from PROMPTLY went out of business after i bought it so no chance of refund there. I wont even mention all the other little nickel and dime issues this thing has caused. When it does work properly, on rare instances, am i impressed with it? Not at all. It likes to surge and is hard to keep at one constant speed. The transmission shifts at very odd points and sometimes raps the jeep out to 5k on the tach before shifting. It is very over priced for the small power gains your receive. Although I have four long time jeep friends that are happy i was the guinea pig and they saved their money. The money spent on this supercharger would have bought the conversion kit alone to install a Hemi into the jeep. Out of 14 years building jeeps, alone this has got to be the absolute worst product i have every bought for a jeep. Its hard to overlook $4k and throw the unit in the garbage when it doesn't work. So in the instance that you buy something from these guys don't expect help or replacement without spending money out of your pocket to prove it is their product that has failed. And then it still won't matter because you will only receive an email saying "you are moving in the right direction". And if you call them to many times you will get stuck on the line with some guy that hardly speaks any english at all and makes no sense. My guess is he was the janitor and they thought it would be funny. And I was very polite as I could be through the whole ordeal. So I challenge you, RIPPMODS, to rebuttal my comments as I have all email and correspondence with you on file and will be happy to provide any member with it to show how I was treated and dismissed due to your products failure. I however never like to leave a negative ending. I will say that they are correct when they say it is very easy to install. It took me just over 4 hours and I really took my time on it to make sure everything was checked and double checked.

I'm leaning towards Ripp power. I know having a Hemi is a lot sexier, but for us penny pinchers working with what you got is the way to go...
For a fraction of the coins, just get a 2012.

How many pre-SC miles are too many? I'm pushing 48,000 miles on my 2008 JK. Not sure where I'd find the money for the kit yet, but I'm considering it. Thanks!

We have had customers put our systems on vehicles with as much as 60,000 mi. Each vehicle is different. Depending on how you kept up with service, to the type of primary driving the vehicle experienced. If your worried, check the compression ratio, and have a sample of the oil, and trans fluid sent out and tested. From that information, you can make the best decision for your JK.

The tune is going to determine the longevity of a boosted 3.8. No question.

If you have a 2011 I wouldn't go anywhere near a boosted application until the PCM gets cracked.

We have 2 options for the 2011, one being our add on, fuel management. The other is a PCM swap to 2010 from RPM Extreme. With their ecu, you can enjoy all the tuning and calibration control that our 2007-2010 systems enjoy via Diablosport Predator. You can call us or them for more details on our options for your 2011 JK.
