roof racks
This may be just what I've been trying to find for weeks now. Can anyone tell me how this thing mounts in the rear? It appears to mount directly to the rear bumper. I have an aftermarket bumper with no place to mount this so I'm hoping there are brackets that snake behind the flares...under the tub and to the frame. Any close up shots of how it mounts would help me a lot. Better yet, if the rear mounts can be built to spec, I'll buy one site unseen.

Does anyone make a basket that attaches directly to the roll bars when the top is off?
I know that Olympic makes the "quick n easy" rack which I'm sure you could attach a basket to, but it appears that they only have it for the TJ, LJ,and YJ.

I want to go with GOBI.
- Anyone have pix of GOBI + AEV Snorkel.
- My bigger dilemma is: Clearance in my garage. I am sitting on a 3.5" inch lift + 35 KM2s, which puts me at 6-4" right now. Adding this will bust the 6-9" limit.

I'm interested in opinions about roof racks. The MBRP looks cool, but requires the hardtop to be on. The body armor one looks burly, but I don't know how hard the top is to lower with it on. How strong is the Garvin one? Anyway, these are some of my questions. I'm interested in what people who already have roof racks have to say. Thanks!
It is a Garvin rack that I customized to be shorter for the trecktop and it also mounts through the top to the roll bar.
I found some. Now remember that this is a preproduction rack. They plan on making the rear support bar a little taller so the rack sits more flush with the top. This is still bare steel also. They are planning on making there own basket too but did not have one available at the time to install. They say the rack will have tabs for lights on the front and set up to run the wires inside of the front brace down into the cowl area.

Below is their optional lader installed.

This is my little (bigger) brother who weighs in at 285 pounds and he was jumping and moving side to side on it and there was no sqeeks, rattles, banging, etc. Very well built even for a preproduction piece.

Sorry guys, I don't have any close-ups and my rack is off as I am having a roll cage installed over the next couple weeks.
If you want to PM me early Dec, I will take some photos and elaborate on the mod when I have it back on the Jeep.
