I paid for all 5, so I'm going to use all 5. Rotate regularly and extend the life of the entire set. There are numerous threads about 4 vs 5 tire rotation out there if you search a little.

People post ads for these spares on craigslist all the time. None of them are sticking with the same tires, and I don't really want a 'new' tire that has been rotting on the back of someones vehicle for several years. Do a five tire rotation, and if you happen to stick with that same tire, keep the best looking of the original set as a spare.

Use it!
Otherwise that's one expensive spare tire!
If you're not going to use it you're better off buying a compressor and plug kit, unless you're a serious rock crawler.

Five tire rotation, absolutely. In fact, because I play in places like the Mojave and Death Valley I am contemplating an additional, or second spare, and if I go that route I'll run a six tire rotation; spares to front, fronts to rears, rears to spares.

I rotate all 5. The only reason not to is if you have a donut spare... In which case, you are beyond hope.
I do the rearward cross. That is diagram "G" on this page:

Jack right rear, swap for spare. Raise right front and swap for right rear. Raise left read and swap in front right. Raise left front put left rear on and left front goes to spare. Same amount of lifts (or less) as a 4-wheel rotation unless you let a shop do it. I don't trust shops to torque the lugs properly. In my experience typical shop torques anywhere from 60 to 120 ftlbs depending on air pressure and attitude of tech.
