The instructions are pretty good. I'm not sure you could add much to them.

If your compelled to get one the wild boar looks the best.
The Rugged Ridge low mount modular snorkel is visually minimal.
The low mount also lacks a "chimney" which is prone to get hit by branches.
It's is enough to prevent hydro lock, as the intake is pointed down.

When the '12+ RR comes out, I'm going to paint it in my Jeep's color.

A snorkel is definitely not just for "submarinning" the Jeep.
For slow offroading in hot weather, it allows the engine to suck much cooler air, instead of the heated air from inside the engine bay.
It also prevents sand dust from getting to the air filter and plugging it.

For those who offroad in sand/sand dust, adding a pre-filter would be a good idea.
The best pre-filter I know of is the Donaldson 'TopSpin Pre-cleaners' (the 3" for the RR snorkel).
