Rubicon Suspension Vs Aftermarket
I have an 09 Rubicon 2 door and am looking at putting a budget lift kit on it. I am wondering if this kit or this kit would be better than the performance suspension that comes on the rubicon. I have read a bunch of threads and it seems the shocks vary quite a bit. Is it worth it or will my shock that came with it be just as good? i appreciate all the help.
Thanks,
Maertz

Both are only spacer lifts but one looks like it includes shocks. Neither will affect your existing suspension because they still use it. The rubicon factory shocks in my 08 rubicon were made by bilstien so they were pretty good.
Both are fine. The choice is whether you want to keep your factory shocks or not. The replacement shocks may give you more travel however.

Sorry, but Rubicon shocks are made by Tenneco, not Bilstein. Same people that make Monroe and Rancho.
Don't believe me, go out and read the little sticker near the bottom of the shock.

Ok then i have one more question i see they have coil spring lift kits then they have coil spring lift kits long and short arm. What are the differences? I see the long arm ones get pretty expensive im not gonna do to much off roading i just want more ground clearance for in the winter here. something like this a little better but not overkill for my situation?

One thing to remember on a 2 door most lifts at 3" or more you will need to replace drive shafts. That can easily add $1000 or more to a base lift. The front lower control arms (FLCA) and rear upper control arms (RUCA) are typically recommended to adjust the front caster angles (flighty steering) and the rear pinion angles (drive shaft alignment). A lift is not an area to save money since it affects the entire vehicle dynamics.
