it's not how fast you shift as to how smooth it feels, on my TL I can rest my elbow in the center console and shift basically with my wrist....., and all it took was a small extension no bigger than an 1" on the base of the stick to make this happen, too bad the Comp Tech went out of bussines ....I would have contacted them and maybe have had them use me as a GUINEA PIG...

Actually, it is how fast you shift and not how smooth it feels. Most short shifters on the market make shifting very stiff and notchy which is not viewed as an improvement by most. The point of the SS is to shorten the throw to decrease time/speed/momentum spent going between gears. Shifting with the flick of your wrist versus full movement of your hand is time wasted on the track, be it road course or drag.

Notice the common theme in the above posts. Everyone has these in their sports cars. There's a reason for that.

Everyone should start calling them once or twice a week. If 10 or so people did this over a month I bet B&M would come out with one.

Hey guys, you might try MGW Limited. They make great short throw shifters for mustangs, vipers and vettes! I had one in my 06 mustang GT. The throw was adjustable from just a little shorter than stock to 40 percent shorter than stock!
They are very well made and very high quality! He let us do a group buy on a mustang site I belong to at a discounted price before they were made available to the general public! He asked us what we wanted during development too! Great guy to deal with!

Here's a link. http://www.mgwltd.com/

I stand corrected, but I did the mod on my car not to run thru the gears like a mad man or even when I take it to the track but but to improve the feel and of course shorten the distance between gears....and like someone else said above ...we desperately need it in our JK's...so thanks for correcting my statement and thanks to LGNDLIVS for the link....hope they listen to us and have one made for our Jeeps

My wife sits with her leg crossed (left ankle on her right knee) and I can't count the number of times I'm smashed my pinky between the shifter and her knee cap when going into reverse.

She's always and I'm always.

Default One more reason

I got one more reason for you guys. I'm only 5 ' 6 " and I can tell you that 5th and reverse start to feel kind of far away unless I adjust the seat to an uncomfortably close to the steering wheel position. Don't get me started on the cluch having to be to the floor to start. Anything that made the throws a little easier for me would be greatly appreciated.
