Simple Fire Extinguisher Solution
You may want to reconsider locking your center console. Take a pry bar/tire iron and contemplate how hard it would be to open that locked console. Trust me, it didn't take the thief long to break mine open in my TJ. And I bet he probably didn't have much of a pry bar on hand.
If you can't part with it.. don't keep it in your Jeep.
Secondly, I kept a fire extinguisher on my B pillar roll bar of my TJ for the 4 years that I owned it and parked in some shady areas and never lost it. Not to mention my CB radio that was mounted under my sound bar. I'd leave it parked with doors, windows, top off like that. Never had a problem. The only time I did was when I locked my doors and center console.
No, really.

When I first got my TJ I'd lock it. I learned my lesson. Someone tore up the top getting into it and then broke open the center console. It cost me about $600 worth of damages. They got a cheap ugly pair of sunglasses $14.00 and a mini-maglite maybe $5.00 or something? Never locked it again.
Just a thought!
If things like flashlights and fire extinguishers are left "loose" in the Jeep and it gets rolled....................???? Ouch! Personally, I prefer to attach loose items to something secure and use a quick release, just in case.

Yeah, I think sitting in the center console is going to keep the extinguisher in one place in the case of an accident, but I’m not sure how well a plastic strap or some others may hold up. Some of the mounts are designed to hold the extinguisher on a wall in a house. A holder for a vehicle needs to support the extinguisher as your vehicle is suddenly slowing from 60 mph or so to zero. I’m not a physics expert, but I’ve read that in a 40 mph accident an object will have 30 to 60 times it’s equivalent weight (i.e., a one pound extinguisher will be equivalent to the weight of a 30 to 60 pound extinguisher).
Mine fit under the drivers seat, and it's a 2.5 pounder. I used zip ties to hold up one side of it. Then i weged the spout side with the carpet. It's pretty tight, and all you have to do is slide the zip ties forward and pull the fire extiniguisher out. Make sure to put the ties "between" the railes that slide back and forth to adjust the seat. I'm frecked about stuff flying around in an accident.
