I'd check to see if their stainless. That'd be pretty crappy to spend that much on skid plates and not have them ready to be installed.

They are not stainless. I knew they were not finished when I ordered them, to be honest I wanted it that way. EVERYTHING i have ordered "finished" (multiple bumpers, rockers, tire carriers )was dinged/scraped during delivery. The shit is so heavy there isnt any way to prevent it.

WHERE ARE THE PAINT EXPERTS??!! Whats best...quick way to finish bare steel?

I'm no expert, but I'd just shoot some rattle can primer and paint on them. They're just skids. That way, they're easy to touch up when you get to use them.

Hey Andy
If you want it to stick good sand it with 180 if it has any scratches you want to smooth out otherwise you could just sand with 400grit, or a really easy way is to get some Scotch brite hand pads, marron ones to prep for the primmer then gray or white to sand the primmer for paint. You should be able to get them at an auto parts store, or auto body supply shop. Also you want some alcohol or prepsol cleaner before you prime it.

If they were mine, I'd get some truck bed liner and do it myself.

Stainless is too soft for skids. Rattle can them.

I think they gave me a price of like $999 for the complete set, but I'm not sure if that was a "finished" price or not.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the total including shipping on these? Shipping price can probably get expensive with that much steel.

I didnt ask if painted/PC finish was available. The skids were $995 and since I was the first order to ship they agreed that it would be no more that $200., but I imagine that shipping is going to go up. Nice folks, give them a call. But think about it, the two small plates that came today are over 70#. So for arguments sake the total is 200#'s. Call UPS and see what they will kill you with to ship!! Thanks Tim for the info. I will prep them like you said and brush on the POR15 chassis Coat black, that stuff is like iron! I used it on the frame where i clearanced the body mounts for my rocker guards.
