Default Snorkel

OK everybody, I am in the market for a snorkel and I need to buy one ASAP (deep mud and water with heavy rains here in Florida.) Which are the best? can we please see pics if you have one? I want to hear from snorkel owners, what do you like/dislike about your choice. There has got to be more out there than River Raider, AEV, ARB. For instance, I like that the RR is aluminum, but $500!? I need to get one ASAP, also if anyone around FL wants to buy an AirRaid intake (sounds great) I have one for sale cheap PM me. Really need input here as a purchase happening soon.

I am wondering how long its taking on shipping with the dealers .... looking at AEV.

Gibson RM, you have to email them. Volant still haven't heard anything as far as my email inbox says.

If you are wanting to see something other than River Raider, AEV and ARB, you options are limited.

Here is a RR pic for you any way:

I've got the river raider and love it, IMO it looks the best out of everything on the market, and I'm more confident in the river raider taking a hard smack against a tree than one of the plastic ones.

The one down side is what to do with the antenna, for a while i did not have one, but i usually listen to my ipod any way, or if you have sat radio then your all set. What i have done though is moved the location of the antenna back and it now fallows the same line as the windshield, i get reception again but its not what it was stock, my guess is this is because when my buddy and i installed it he didn't know the coax un-plugged from the mount on the inside, so he cut the wire, i had just used a soderless connector to fix the coax once i remounted the antenna and this is the only reason why i think I'm getting crappy reception. I'm still working out a fix for this so once i finally get it working as good as it use to ill post up what i did.

here are few pics of how i have it now...

and just for good measure

I have the AEV and LOVE it. Got it from Dave at Northridge. He had it delivered to Canada in no time. Great to deal with... highly recommend it.

Also it sounds awesome when you hammer on the skinny pedel! not that that makes any difference... more of an FYI!

Volant has one in the works too!!!
The volant snorkel we'll be lucky to see by summer of next year.

I'm on the other side of the fence with an AEV snorkel. I went through a tough choice of River Raider and AEV. Ultimately I chose the AEV because the RR didn't have a drain hole in case water got in. Sure it probably won't make it to the intake but I felt more comfortable with the AEV.

IMO he certainly SHOULDN'T wait for the volant if he wants a snorkel in the near future. There isn't even a rough date on when it's going to be out. People asked spring of 08 and there was no answer. I wouldn't expect to see one in early 09.
