Default now that is sound advice

The Irok's are probably the best all around performing offroad tire but good luck getting 20K miles out of them.
three things i have gleaned from the thread,
  1. that interco makes decent tires for off road
  2. that most of their tires wear out too quick if used on road

  3. and now an option for one that can perform double duty

thanks !

Dang. I was looking at other tires but this one went near the top of my list.

Default have another question : tire size and fender trimming?

reading through the forum today i saw an article talking about getting bigger tires on a jeep just by running "flat fenders" or trimming the stock ones

so does this mean i can get bigger tires say 33 or 35 without a lift first - just by modifying the fenders?

You can go to 35s with no lift if:

- you trim the factory fenders or buy flat fenders
- you get aftermarket rims with 4.5" backspace

... and still have some pretty good articulation. I had 35s on a stock rubi with trimmed fenders and never rubbed. I wasn't doing any extreme off roading but I wasn't mall crawling in it either. If your jeep has 3.21 gears I probably wouldn't go with a 35 though. My 3.8l with 4.10s was a bit of a dog with 35s, even with a programmer.
