Starting Upgrades
Guys...thanks again for the friendly welcome and all the great advice...very helpful. McPuck86...quick question...with your procomp wheels and stock Rubi tires is your tire more recessed within the fender than on stock wheels? Was wondering if I went with a wheel with 5" backspacing and stock Rubi tire if it will be too recessed. Thanks.
Just as a point of reference, stock Rubicon wheels have 6.5" of backspacing. Therefore, 5.5" will make your wheels an inch wider overall toward the outside of the fender (a better looking stance).
What type of forum discount do we receive? I searched for more information but could not find any -- thank you!
ill be the first to say welcome!!

So, like yourself, I just recently got my JK...and have been drooling over this forum and the Quadratec web site. I decided to go for more power first and then will go for the tires, lift and gears. I figure since I am more of a daily driver that I would want the freed up HP.
And I got it with the Superchip Flashpaq. Even if you get wheels and tires I think that the Flashpaq is a necessity at $300 - worth ever bit of it!! And it serves as a great foundation for the rest of the upgrades that I am sure will follow.

Honestly, there are sooooo many great things you could get for the JK.. Truth is, even if your only offroading "sometimes", you absolutely need a High Jack and learn how to use it. When I first got my jeep it seemed invincible, there was no way it was going to get stuck. Truth is, one day you shall.
A winch is of course great, but for now at least a high Jack as a winch with some chain or strap.
My 2 cents.
