I just got back from the Badlands in Indiana, and I would have trashed a full width bumper. At least get the Rugged Ridge so you can bolt on and unbolt the wings.

No doubt that the full width help you "blaze" a trail and give better protection to the front. And the ones with tapered ends aren't that limited in the ability to get a wheel on an obstacle, especially if combined with a lift and bigger tires.
However, the cut fender/stubby bumper not only looks good, but is a dang effective combination, and definitely superior for rock climbing..

That said, I prefer full width bumpers and full fenders. Best for an all purpose Jeep and room for a lot of lights.
