Default Super chips? or super crap?

Hello
I am an automotive teacher. I teach diagnostics and am always on my Snapon Modis. The onboard computers are no mystery to me. I have a Masters in Engineering from RIT. Technology and computers are my first language, english is second. I receantly purchased a Superchips Flashpaq. I took great care in following the directions. My favorite saying that I tell the students is RTFD (Read The Freakin Directions). MY flashpaq worked for all of 3 seconds then started shooting error codes at me.
Being no stranger to technology, I decided to update the unit again. It did not work. So I decided to do some research. To my surprise, the general consensus seem to be to update until it takes. Are you kidding me??? For three hundred dollars I can expect a little glitch here and there but not this.
Does anyone have any advice rather then update continuously until it works? I really want this to work.

What do I do about error code G6F General Database 3 error ?????

Default Yeah

I called. They were closed. It's just frustrating when you pay for something that doesn't work. I am going to follow up. Sorry for my venting. I appologize if my post offended anyone.

The error code that is getting thrown is a download interruption.

Here's a couple things that may be helpful to get it to work correctly.

Make sure the Flashpaq is the only USB device plugged in, outside of mouse and keyboard.

Make sure the Flashpaq is plugged into the back of the computer, not the front, not a keyboard, monitor or hub.

Make sure the downloader is in the foreground on your computer, no power saving modes and no screen savers.

That should successfully execute the download.

I got mine to work on a Windows VM on MacOS after 2 tries, so the it definitely works.

The issue on mine was a USB as JPOP mentioned. I connect the Flashpaq to a USB port on my monitor instead of directly to a port on my machine. Although it did not produce a USB error, communication was erratic.

BTW, if you have such in depth knowledge of PCM's may be you could shed some light on how the JK's programming which leads to such inconsistent fuel economy from one JK to another.

Be patient with the little red box , the results are worth it.

Thanks again for the advice guys. I do want to appoligizes for my comments if they offended anyone. I really do want this to work.

I tried all of the usb ports, made sure nothing interupted the process, tried all platforms including 32 and 64 bit, it says it was updated sucessfully. The second I plug the flash pak in the OBDII port it displays the error code. Does anyone know if there is any ways to reset the flashpaq? I am sure my questions will be answered tomarrow. I have heard good things of their customer service.

And as for the erratic fuel mileage... I was wondering about all of the variables, especially being a drive by wire. I hooked up my modis for a week and payed attention to the sensors for a week. Nothing jumped out at me other then the traffic I wasnt paying attention to because I was comparing sensors. I have been glued to this forum since I bought my jeep last year. I find that listening to everyones experiences is much more helpful then an education.

And did I mention that I really miss my YJ.
