I have been looking at getting one of these soon but now this makes me alittle hesitant.

Don't sweat it. As noted above, Superchips stands behind their product.

You also need to read between the lines on a lot of these "the damn thing doesn't work" posts, and you will see that it was simple user error in a lot of cases. (you will be amazed at how many people turn the key to ACC instead of ON, then come screaming to the forums when they get a code... )

Sorry to hear about your problems. I tried to update first like the directions indicate, and was also unable to get through to SC after the unsuccessful attempt to update. After asking for advice on this forum, I decided to plug mine in and it worked perfectly. I wonder if some of the Flashpaqs that may have been lying on a shelf for sometime are behind regarding newer software. I bought mine from Northridge after contacting them because they told me their's were brand new and probably didn't need updating. Evidently they were right, but if you haven't tried it on your Jeep go ahead and plug it in it may work.

GOOD LUCK

Alright, to be fair here is what has happened since I posted...I did NOT have it in ACC it was ON...however, it would never take. It kept flashing initializing and then said it could not read that the engine was ON. So....instead of using quick tune, I selected advance tune....went through the screens and then it idid save the stock prpofile and install the 87 Octane tune...when it was done it said tune installed.

I have noticed some difference in driving, but would like to spend some more time behind the wheel....I will say at this point if you are looking for your hair to blow back and be thrown into the seat this may not be for you. I do, however, think that given that I will change tires within the next year and thus will have to buy some sort of calibrating device, this at least gives me more options. Again, more time and I will render a better opinion.

Oh...also, while it was installing the tune the HOTOIL warning kept flashing on the dash, but I just let it go since the SC device seemed to be installing...plus it was freezing outside and I was not operating the engine so there was no way the oil could be hot!

Hope this clarifies my previous comments...
