PR44 are a waste of money, you spend $5k+ and still don't have lock out hubs or bigger brakes.

Have you looked into picking up a used Rubi D44 that someone has upgraded? You could then regear that along with adding gussets and you'd probably be set. You might get luck and the extra gussets may already be installed... Just a thought?
