Default Tires?

I have an 08 wrangler x with a skyjacker 5" short arm suspension lift. I can't decide on tires. I like how the toyo open country look but I've heard a lot of good things about the bfg km2s. Which one do you recommend? I also cannot decide on a size. I have 33" on their now and they look tiny. I was leaning towards something like a 36" by 13.50. Would this allow me to still flex and will my jeep be able to pull those tires? I have the 3.8 liter inline six, automatic.

I also travel back home from college ever so often. I just don't want them to wear too fast! This Is my daily driver!

I plan on getting the bushwacker flat style fenders. How much more clearance will this give me?

With 37's you'll be stressing your front Dana 30 axle. I would stick with 35s. A lot of different options are out there. For such a tall lift, I would recommend 35x12.50. You should be able to get full flex out of that.

The only way I would do 37s on a Dana 30 is if u never off road OR r willing to upgrade axle in near future, OR if u r willing to reinforce the heck of the Dana 30 and still be ok with potential for breakage. Personally, I think u should stop with 35s if u have dana 30. 35s will do awesome off road and look fine with large lifts. U def could flex with 37s and 5 inch lift, no problems. Just have to trim a few things like pinch seam and extend ur bumpstops and/or run flat fenders. Planman on here runs 37s with 3 inch lift, 1 inch Body lift and trimmed fenders. 37s will cost u A LOT more money than just the tires though.

Default 35 is just right

Like the other posts have said I would sure stop with the 35 inch size. With stock gearing and the auto it will just be able to handle the 35s and it won't like being in OD with any kind of grade or wind in the face on the road. Then off road the axle shafts will be under a lot of stress as is. Really don't see the need for anything larger than the 35s.

I would not think tire hight would have any impact on axle bending, i do think that with wider tires and wheels hanging out of the fenders there would be much more impact on bending the axles, Im no expert.

37 and 35 all tend to be 1250 width, I think the metric tires are a bit wider 325 65 18 for example.

I hav a 4" on a Sahara unlimited with 18 9.5 rims 35 1250 tires, have bushwacker flats to install and I think it may look like it needs 37,s Im not a hard core offroader, and my 3.70 gears need to be changed next

So if I Put a Dana 44 on the front end it would have no problem with 37's
