I am preparing for a lift install. I'm gathering the needed tools. What do y'all think of these stands and floor jack. Also I saw this digital torque meter in harbor freight that attaches to any socket wrench, making any socket wrench a torque wrench Any experience with that.

Opinions please.

I've got time. I want decent gear, want to be safe while being reasonable in my budget.

I've wondered about those digital torque adapters too. A normal torque wrench needs to be recalibrated once in a while. What would you do with the adapter for calibration?

Those jackstands are great. Dunno about the others though.

Is a 3 ton jack strong enough for a body lift as well.

I have those same jack stands and was getting ready to do the Teraflex 1.5" Leveling kit. I also need a floor jack as my old 2.5 ton isn't going to cut it. I would also like to know if the 3 ton is good enough as I have seen others suggest a 3.5 ton jack. Subscribed.

2.5 tons is more than enough. I have a 2.5 ton and a 3 ton and I actually prefer my 2.5 ton cuz it's easier to use. They are both the same size.

I know when i did my lift I had to go get new stands and a jack cuz the ones I had for my Evo VIII wouldn't even touch the frame of the jeep on the ground while fully extended. I ended up with 6 ton stands just because I liked how tall they got

Cool. It looks like those stands and jack are gonna be around 150.00 together. I think I'll pick those up this weekend. Thanks for the info. If there are any dissenting opinions please share before I jump in.

All I'm concerned with now is a torque and impact wrench. Any suggestions.

I don't have a compressor. If I need air tools it'll be about a two month delay for funds. What ya thinking?

Thanks again guys.

Check your local sears. They have stands/jack combos on sale often, just watch out for size.

You don't "need" air tools.

Borrow your buddy's torque wrench for your first install, then buy him a 12pack, say thank you, and buy your own as soon as you can. If you are going to spin wrenches, you need your own torque wrench.

You will need Beer for hydration,,,,also dulls the pain when the wrench slips.
