Most of you seem to think this is only a JK problem, it isn't, it was a problem with the TJ also. Any track bar backet on the axle will get a lot of force fromm pulling and they fail on a regular basis.

from a law standpoint, proof is very vague in this situation... how does jeep prove the lift caused the problem? Well they get a technician to say so. Now the responsibility is yours to prove that jeep is wrong. Hire a lawyer and get a engineer to testify. It can become so costly that its not worth the effort. However, just threatening to get a lawyer envolved could do the trick. Anyways good luck.

I have experience with this type of litigation. A dealer technician's opinion would not be admitted into evidence in court. Under Magnuson-Moss, the manufacturer has to defend the denial even if it was made at the dealer level. Only thing that counts with the court is an engineering study (written analysis) buy the manufacturer. Also, burden of proof rests with the manufacturer. All you have to do as the consumer is stand there and say that it broke and should be covered by warranty.

Did 4WP install all three bolts that hold the bracket to the axle?

Or, since it was an aftermarket part which CAUSED the failure, pay some Bozo $20 to weld it back on for you. Your Jeep will be driveable again and you won't have to go through all this mess of threatening lawyers. Jeeps are great, but we have to accept that putting on lifts and big tires will probably cause failures. It is the risk we take, but it is well worth it.

Thanks for everyones input. Jeep did deny it even though the service manager agrees that one of the welds on the stock bracket was bad, he even said it might have and probably would have failed without the lift,

Anyway, the guys at 4 wheel parts are going to reweld it and reinforce it better than stock.

To say the least I am disappointed in Jeeps handling of this. I have purchased 3 Jeeps in the last 4 years (2003 KJ / 2005 TJ / 2007 JK). My family has really enjoyed all our Jeeps. You would think with the state of the US auto industry, they would treat their loyal customers a little better. Just a sign of the screwed up world we live in. At least the guys at 4 wheel parts understand how to treat customers (or is it the fact they know I am about to lift my 2006 F150 SuperCrew ????????)

Talking 4WP steps up

Took my JK to 4wp today because of the broken factory track bar bracket. They rewelded everything back up. They even added gussets to the side to reinforce the stock bracket. All this for FREE. I guess there are some good people left who care about their customers.

Those gussets should help a lot.
