holy crap, i stand corrected and i'm amazed at what i'm seeing!! yeah, looks like the drive shaft held up and was not the cause of the break but rather, it must have been something inside the diff. at least, that's the only way i can see the pinion breaking like that. something inside the diff clearly locked up fast and hard. quite frankly, i'm surprised that the factory shaft didn't just barber pole as i have seen happen in the past.

x2. At least, if I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing, your installer should be footing the bill for all your new parts.

I'd like to see some pics when the pumpkin gets popped open. Have it towed back to your installer (if you trust them and have a warranty ). By looks of the pics the problem originated in the rearend. Either install error or manufacturer defect in the pinion.

Well, I obviously need a new DS. What would you guys recommend? Should I get rear upper adjustable CA's to adjust pinion angle too?

honestly, there's nothing obvious about it. looking at your pic, your pinion broke at the flange but your shaft looks fine. i would do a physical inspection of it and if all is good, i would just keep using it.

So you recommend getting another stock TC and using the stock DS if it is still good (I'd get it rebalanced of course)? Do you still recommend upper adjustable CA's? If so which brand? I just don't want this happening again. Pretty sure I'm gonna go with 4.56 gear instead of 5.13. I didn't like my jeep turning 3000 rpms going highway speed.
