Transfer case just exploded!!!
Be careful with cracks on the gear that are invisible to the naked eye and need special processes and tools to be detected. If the stress was big enough to crack the case I would suspect of damage to the gears also. Just my 2c.
I have to agree. I have owned several Jeeps over the past 20 or so years and this was most definitely caused by a faulty gear installation job. Your installer should be picking up the entire repair/replacement costs. You should only be paying for upgrades not included in the original install. IMHO...
I am only paying for upgrades. He is eating the money on the gears and labor. Also gonna install new gears and eat the price of those and labor. He's done wrk on my previous jeeps and never had a problem. I've seen the atlas and it is new with all adapters/parts.
Thing is I have already purchased a tcase out of a 2010 X with only 4000k on it. So decisions decisions.... Have even thought about just sticking with the tcase already purchased and getting Spyntec hubs
Lol, oh yeah, that was my T Case...forgot you already picked that up. I would try out the trails with the new gears when they go in, and then decide on the atlas. You can always re-sell my old T Case
Your install sounds like an honest person that will pay for their mistakes, Its hard to find someone with a no questions asked i apologize and will make it right.
I would still try and sell that Rubi Transfer case and go with the Atlas if they are covering all the labor. If i recall installing an atlas would take allot more work than just swaping a rubi. It sounds like it would be more bang for your buck in the long run.
