Stak makes a transfer case that fits into a JK as well. I personally went with the Atlas 4sp.

The gear cases are not louder. The have helical cut gears. The Dana 300 case is a gear case and came in the CJ-7.

What about the np205...... You can even twin stick it...... If the atlas price tag scares you anyways
