Still not sure if I want to go with the Guard Dogs or the Wardens since I do mostly on road driving.

How do the Guard Dogs hold up in that scenerio?

 

Other than being loud, I have no complaints.

Are they actually true to size? They look kind of small and narrow in the pictures..

 

when I bought my 33's. they were listed as 33.3 in true size.

 

The sizes are as published on the site, in my experience. For height, you have to keep in mind that the spec is NOT holding up a vehicle, it's unladen at Max pressure.

Don't try to "do the math" and calculate what the size will be. That never works on any tire. The actual sizes are listed on the site and can be believed.

That's been my experience on 2 sets.

 

New Treadwright Wardens. 285/70 R17's

Gained about 2" over the stock SRA's with 36k mile on them.

They do rub at full lock. I think I'm going to add some 1.5" spacers from Rough Country....and at a minimum the 1.5" leveling kit...or....2" spacer kit. Stupid disease.

They are slightly rougher than the stock, which is expected. They "vibrate" a bit more than the SRA's, which I can't tell if it is a balance issue or just the more aggressive tread, I'm leaning toward the tread, because it higher speeds it is not as noticeable. As I said, the Jeep ride is rougher than it was, it rides like a .......Jeep! Slight hum, but nothing really that noticable unless you are trying to hear it. Tire shop did say 2 of them were harder to balance than the other 2. They are on the front. They also put almost 38psi in them as well, I dropped them to 35, and still may drop them some more, not sure.

Speedo is off 1mph according to GPS. So 60 is actually 61.

It completely changes what the Jeep looks like.

I was getting some warranty work done before it runs out on my intermediate shaft and had several of the techs ask me about those tires. The one today, multiple trips while part was ordered, came out and asked, and wrote down the name! Mine came on BFG Mud Terrain cores. He was confused by that!

Those are stock Sahara's for comparison. No sports I could get close too.

The last two are of mine and a some guy that was parked in my work parking lot, those are 35's and he had around 2.5 to 3" of lift.

 

How do the tires balance? Any issues with having to use a lot of weight to balance?

 

Firestone did mine, not preferred but they did it on Saturday, an hour after the came off the Fedex truck! 2 of them took quite a bit of weight, 2 did not.
