I couldn't be happier with mine. 4 265/75/16 guard dog with kedge, D range, BFG AT KO carasses, $600.18 shipped! I love em! Each tire took less than 6 ounces to balance. I have had em for about a week and have put about 500 miles on the road. The noise is only a slight hum until you hit 60mph then it goes away mostly. My speedo is a little off (5-7 mph at 70mph) The shop that mounted them were amazed at how well made they were. I will never buy new again. Treadwright from here on out! Stock '07 X.

 

The more and more I read about these tires the more I want to buy them.

 

I've never heard of anyone regretting them.

I just put some 265-75-16 wardens on my tacoma. Tire shop said one tire had a " hop" in it and it was " out if round".
It does viberate a little bit between 35-40 mph. However I am still planning on ordering some 285's for my wifes jeep. I say they are worth it.

Now three people out of 6 pages on this thread have vibrations.... That would make me wary about quality. I would never put them on my Jeep I do 30 miles plus on the highway every day with my kid in the Jeep. I will pay a little more for a higher quality product and I got the certificates for replacement from Discount Tire.

 

I can't remember if I've already mentioned this, but.. when you go to the tire shop, make sure they balance your tires on the STATIC setting.

This is VERY important. TreadWright tires are designed at the factory to be balanced in STATIC mode ONLY. Failure to do so may result in vibrations and/or loss of your warranty.

I have used mutliple sets of TreadWright tires. In all honesty... mine have run smoother on the highway than any "new" tire I have ever owned.

 

I've driven 50 miles per day to and from work for 3 months and don't have any problems. All tires balanced fine and ride great. Having a kid in a soft top isn't the safest either, or going topless too. I guess I'm a bad parent.

 

The retreading process makes the tires taller. Think about it.. you're adding the bonding agent on top of the old tread, then adding a deep new layer of tread on top of that. So the TreadWright tires will always be taller than the carcass they are made on was when it was new.

Example, most "new" 265/70-16 tires are listed at 30.7 inches, but measure around 30.0 inches. A 265/70-16 TreadWright Guard Dog actually measures out to 31.0 inches!

Also, the retreading process adds weight for the same reasons. So, a tire that weighs 50 lbs. when new will end up weighing around 60 lbs. after being retreaded.

Just some stuff to consider. A 285/70-17 TreadWright will NOT match up with a 285/70-17 "new" tire. The TW will be taller and will wear your spider gears. You need to run 4 TW tires at the same time.
