Tuffy Cubby Cover -- Warning!
One of the corners has a piece of black electrical tape on it. This is because the corner and the door make contact and will scratch/remove paint without it. Of course, the lifespan of this tape is questionable. So, a small section of my door is down to bare metal and I'll have to take a hammer to the cover and/or door to fix the problem, then paint the affected area to prevent rust. I expected better from Tuffy. They certainly knew of the problem, or would not have stuck that piece of black tape on there. Lame.

Ahhh, Now I see what you're talking about.

Still trying to figure out how only one corner hits the bottom of the tailgate, unless that corner is bent up.

I did the same. I had to order a pen of touch-up paint because of it. I'm not sure how long that tape would have held up anyway.
I decided to put a heavy belt over the area and close the door on it. It dented the door, but once touched up with the paint pen, it shouldn't rub again. I don't really care about the dent, I'm more concerned about rust.
What pisses me off is that Tuffy knows about this and decided to slap a piece of tape on it. I expect most people will take the tape off anyway....

I just installed mine on Sunday and was ready to post a thread stating how happy I was with the build quality, etc. til I heard this. I was wondering what that tape was on there for - of course I promptly took it off. Never would have guessed that Tuffy would be as cheesy as solving their design flaw with electrical tape. I expect a bit more than that for my 150 bucks. Sheesh. Has anyone contacted Tuffy with this? Any solutions other than denting the tail gate??
