Turbocharging my 3.8
I wasnt figuring that in no.. DD performance should be excellent, and hwy driving. Turbos are more efficient for DD, but I just dont like spools time. Dont get me wrong, Im not knockin the install, it should be great! I just wouldnt add one because theyre kinda one sided. Thats my opinion, dont read in to it too much..lol.
you will want some back pressure with a turbo system. Especially when spooling up that T4. Good luck with the Kit! What fuel pump are you going to run?
With a 3.8 I don't think spool time is going to be too bad
My Evo with a 20G and a 2.0 was pretty fast, having the extra two cylinders and almost twice the displacement will make a huge difference! I really thought about doing the turbo kit, but I went Sprintex for the small form factor and for where it puts down the power. I considered buying the ARP head bolts from the prodigy kit for extra insurance on my setup.

Unlike NA setups there is no back pressure needed on a turbo setup, so I went with the free flow muffler. Of course there will be some back pressure cuz that's life, but I want it minimzed so I can get that turbine spinning and make the most power possible. Also, I'm using the stock pump with a "Boost a Pump" device which is included in the 12 psi kit that adds juice to to pump when more fuel is needed based on boost levels so it doesn't lean out...

Compared to the stock torque number at the crank of 200 ft-lb max (LOL) and then it makes 400 ft-lb of torque at the wheels before 4000 RPM, so spooling wont be an issue
Well spooling "will" be an issue just because it's a turbo. SC will boost linearly with RPM. Turbos follow a sort of exponential growth leveling out at whatever psi they can get. So there is always "a" lag but I highly doubt it's going to get you in trouble. And if you have a auto, that is what brake boosting is for lol.
I just head back from Prodigy and my 12psi boost tune will be done no later then tomorrow, so I'll be swapping and bolting on parts tomorrow afternoon. I should have more pics of the progress by later tomorrow evening then if all goes well I'll have it button up on Saturday for some road testing
