My dealer told me not to use an aftermarket filter that uses oil as it will screw with all sorts of sensors and void the warranty on that part of the engine. They are totally fine with the AEM CAI since it is not oiled.

Any idea how much your Jeep weighs now?
I agree with Jpop! Dana 60's that's some weight... ecspecially with everything else.

You've done enough to that jeep to warrant putting a substantial power plant in... start shopping for one!

I have been checking out the forum today and more than one person has suggested that you do a Hemi swap. Get the message? It's expensive, but hey, it's a Jeep thing. LOL

I'm not so much in line with a Hemi swap, but you are going to need to twist that little 3.8 a little more to make the power you want. The 65mph at 2500rpm you mentioned before is a little slim on power, likely producing just enough power to roll the vehicle on flat ground at that speed. Add a small hill or a head wind and you are likely downshifting to keep it rolling at that speed.

It's an awesome rig you have and some bullet proof components. The only thing you need are some steeper gears to move that tank and the power will feel fine.

BTW, since you're likely to be twisting that motor a little harder than most, have you done anything on the exhaust, intake or programmer side of things?

[QUOTE] I'm putting a hushpower muffler this week and haven't decided on an intake yet. The supercharger or Hemi is on my mind.... As far as the gears go, I just installed the 4.88's I don't even have 1000 miles on my jeep yet. I chose 4.88's with a manual transmission because the consensus seemed to indicate this as the best setup..... I guess that I can always downshift.

The consensus is pretty much right with a 6 speed and 35s. Unfortunately you're probably rolling with close to an extra half ton than most. 15% more weight, 15% more gear. Nobody ever seems to look at that much nor the terrain you're rolling over in your backyard.

With a programmer, new can and a drop in high flow filter I would think you will feel a decent bump in power. Not the kind that will set you back in your seat, but enough where you'll feel comfortable passing people on the highway. Also, driving in 5th at highway speeds will give you a precursory feel of what gears in the 5.80 range would feel like and a good indicator of whether you want to take on a supercharger or hemi.
