Using winch on stock bumber
Ok. I'm dumb. Why go the RC for $239 when you can get the same basic thing for $70? http://www.roughcountry.com/winch_mounts_jk.html Interested to see the Harbor Freight set up rom alaskabound.
With the 70$ model, you need an aftermarket bumber. It's just a plate to be bolted to the metal bumper

Almost finished with the install. Don't know if I will work on it today or not....nasty outside. I will take a couple of pics in a bit.
I have the Warn Winch Plate and love it. I'm actually installing the winch this weekend. The Warn is very similar to the RCX plate in that it connects at 4 points to the frame rails. I picked it up used for $100 from a guy who had replaced his bumper. If you can find a deal on one it's the way to go, but they are definitly a little $$$ new.

If those don't work you can see them in the gallery: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/members/turkeyfreer-9317-albums-2007-unlimited-sahara-crystal-red-rock-112/

I have the rough country and it looks really clean. The only thing I wish I would have done was look at the thread on here where the guy cut his bumper and put the end pieces back on. It looked awesome! He completely walked everyone through it, cuts, rivets, and all!!! It would have been great to do before I put on the winch and plate, but I'm not gonna take it all off now to do it.
