Ok guys so after some talk with a forum member ive decided to go with a snorkel as my first mod..


Im just stuck between RiverRaider and AEV, they both have pros and cons in my opinion so i wanna hear what your pros and cons on both are, and any experience you might of had with them.

My personal pros and cons are

RiverRaider
Pros: slim sleek design, works with RIPP s/c (which i MIGHT go with some time down the line who knows its not for sure), isnt made out of plastic.

Cons: head cant be turned around like AEV, and there has to be a battery relocation done, also the radio antenna has to be removed.


AEV
Pros: head can be switched to the bowl style or ram air style, and can also be turned around incase of any crazy water crossing (**** ) or just for any need to turn it around. Also it goes directly to the stock air and there is no need to relocate the battery.

Cons: the huge hole in the hood which isnt too big of a deal since i can have a local shop do the cut out for me.

 

Ive seen both and for me its a toss up. I like the look and construction of the River Raider ALOT better, but I prefer the install and price of the AEV. I voted AEV, because thats what I'll probably end up getting.

 

exactly thats why i made this thread.. so everyone can post pros and cons to see which one is better.. i dont think any offroad magazines have put them both to the test it would be nice to see who wins it

I like the look of AEV better and though I'd prefer not to add more plastic to my rig, the price difference and extra work involved in the RR just doesn't seem to be justified for the small difference in quality.

 

AEV and Heat Reduction Hood if you prefer.

 

what snorkel do you have?
