You guys crack me up. I needed that. thanks.
Today has been hectic.

back on topic....I wanted to help with input, so I thought back to when I was considering both snorkels.

The AEV seems to have a better airflow angle...less turns, etc. You can either just cut an easily replaced hood, or get an AEV hood (which I have). Plastic can flex to allow more give, returning to normal after contact with out a permanent dent. The ram air intake I like better than the popcorn popper.

The River Raider attaches near the snorkel intake column, and doesnt take up as much space on the outside of the vehicle. Being made of metal, it looks tougher, and can more easily be painted to match your vehicle.....which looks kinda cool.

the RR looks better from the outside, the AEV looks better under the hood.
I went AEV because of the price.

either way you are getting a beautiful product made to high standards.. To me its one of those things where you cannot go wrong either way you go.

AEV all the way
the precleaner does it for me I have used precleaner snorkels before and are
so much nicer to use in heavy dust.
Plastic gives metal does not.

Default River Raider Snorkel

I was going to go with the RR but I herd that you have to cut thru right near the wiring harness. One slip and that would be major sucktitude:rotflmao1

the only harness near there can be easily unplugged and moved during cutting.

[QUOTE=UGOTKERN;1145882]Just installed the AEV last weekend.

So putting the hood up.... does the snorkle bend?

For the comment- i like both of the snorles however i prefer the rounded style of the AEV than the box style..

thanks for all the input guys

my main concerns are basically the relocation and modifications under the hood i would need to do with the RR install, also RR cant turn the head around since its all one piece (and i live in florida, ask any floridian here we get plenty of "puddles" to go through), only thing i probably dislike about the AEV is the fact it wont work with the RIPP s/c but then again if i do that its wayy down the line probably 2 and a half years down the line..

so weighing out my options i think ima go with AEV, and when its time for a s/c i can worry about selling the snorkel and switching over then.

the snorkel is bolted to the fender and the hood is more like notched.. when you raise the hood, the snorkel stays in place.
