Warn M8000 or Superwinch 9.0EPi?
The superwinch has a faster line speed, but Warn is Warn. They stand by their product and even their cheap M8000 has a better name behind it.
Also, something to consider - nearly every aftermarket bumper will accomodate an M8000. The superwinch, however, is not always accounted for. For example - my shrockworks bumper will not accept the superwinch. This is part of being a Warn - the brand makes it compatible with nearly every bumper out there.

im still wondering this... is it just a matter of drilling some new holes?
Nothing wrong with the Warn, even the cheapest warn, but between these two, I'd go with the Superwinch. The Superwinch passed the ultimate winch off (or whatever), and while warn did have one that passed, this isn't it.
But more importantly, the Superwinch has much lower amperage draw, making it fine for stock alternators and stock batteries. If you are so serious about it that you know what you need, a high end Warn is probably worth the money. For the rest of us, the Superwinch EPi9 is among the best winches you can buy.
When my Smitty dies, the Superwinch is what I will replace it with. And that means I will be ordering a new front bumper because my Shrock Stubby won't work with it.

As the OP, I ordered the Superwinch and it is now in my garage waiting for my LoD bumoer to arrive. I informed them that I would be using this winch and they have supplied the proper mounting holes.
Thanks for all of the help!

Between the two listed winches, I would go with the Superwinch. It is cheaper, has a better warranty and it has an integrated solenoid. Add that up with the external brake and 1K more pull and you have a pretty good deal. I think an 8K winch for a loaded Unlimited may be pushing the ability of the winch. Better to have a little more than a little less.
I don't even understand how the warn M8000 can even compete with the Superwinch EPI 9.0.
Superwinch has arguably a better warranty, it has been the official winch for the Camel Trophy for the past 20 years and it came on top with the Warn 9.5xp in the Moab Jeeper Magazine shootout... For half the price.... Also if you plan to run a synthetic winchline, the EP series is great since the drum run cooler than most winches.
Also the superwinch comes with a farilead, a hook and a free snatch block...
I bought my EP. 9.0 for $531 (with shipping), relocated the solenoids on top of the winch and added a synthetic whichline...

Just curious where you bought your Superwinch EPi 9.0.
Thanks
