Here is my deal..

I've paid $200 bi-weekly on a car for the last 15 years. I always buy a Jeep I think will have the most value in the long run. Normally a Rubicon unlimited these days.. When I see the valve of the Jeep is high I sell.

Here is how my latest deal has gone down. I finished payments on my 2008 (bought it used in 2010) about 4 months ago. So $1600 is in savings.
I traded in my 2008 rubicon unlimited for $18,000. And bought a 2012 rubicon unlimited for $26,000.

I made my payments out to be $200 bi-weekly so I know have a 2012 rubicon and $10,000 in cash to play. The downside I've been paying $200 a month for 15 years... But I always have a nice car and I always have cash to modify. It is all about getting a good trade in.

I started this with a $2000 Yj I did pay cash for.

Default Congratulations!

As first person to reply to this after it being dead for a while, Id like to say Congrats! I was ready to reply until i seen it was about a year old. But since you have updated us I would like to join in. I work at a dealership (Ford) but we still get wholesale discounts with other manufacturers. That helps with a lot of the OEM stuff, which in turn I can use the saved money for stuff i cannot get through dealer channels. I have a wife, two kids, a dog, jeep, and a house payment. I dream more than I buy, but one day I will be where I want to be as far as my jeep goes.
