WHat the hell do you all do
Signal maintainer for Norfolk southern railroad. If I didn't work the OT that I do then I probably wouldn't have much done to my jeep as its my only vehicle. I look at it as my OT money is my play money and straight time money is for car payment, mortgage, bills, etc. Best advice is to save for what you want, even if it takes you months and months you'll appreciate it more in the end.
I can identify. I'm a marketing director for a 76-year-old nonprofit that helps at-risk children and families. I do OK, but my wife had brain surgery a couple of years ago, so my Jeep budget is nonexistent! (Those bills have zeros on the end!
)
I set aside a few bucks as I can and let it build, and I've been very fortunate to have won a few contests and done a little in-kind trade with a Jeep parts manufacturer. The Jeep build is still painfully slow!

Expat living in Brunei, apart from my Jeep (and family of course) no where else to spend money on

I own a small landscape/construction business. I started stockpiling parts before I had the Jeep. Little bit here and there. If your struggling with even making payments maybe looking for a new job might be the answer?(I know it's easier said than done). Trying to cut back on unnecessary spending too. Even bringing lunch to work rather than buying it can save you $$. Most guys on here slowly chip away at their builds anyhow. Every little or big thing you do is fun on the Jeep!
I am a school counselor. As I have gotten older I realized that life is about the journey just as much as the destination. I save a little money each month to buy my Jeep parts. I got a 2015 JKU about a year ago. It's going to take me about 4 years to get it where I want it to be. I am ok with that. I also picked up a 2003 TJ that I got for almost nothing.
