The truth is, you picked an expensive hobby. Just be happy with what you do have. There are some who are just daydreaming about owning a Jeep, and you have one. Don't compare yourself with what others have, be content with what you do have. You can enjoy a stock jeep for a long time and 'dream' of the time when it will be customized.
I agree with our philosophy on wealth and appreciation, thanks for the input and advice.

Some of these people...are just filthy rich. Not me, and probably not most Jeepers. There's a thread on what jobs people have around here. Worth a read...it's pretty amazing just how spread out/diverse in the career world we are.
judging by the number of people that checked out this post overnight I'd have to draw the same conclusion, people are building jeeps slowly due to life constraints.

My best advice to anyone who would like to duplicate my success: Live beneath your means, invest for the long term.
Thats a really nice jeep, the build looks good.

Drilling and Completions Engineer.
With wife and kids.

I frac wells for a living. People have a misconception of what frac is.
I do it everyday. I'm also a tree hugger. I love the woods.

Weird, but I make it work.

Im an underpaid Analyst ( I monitor shit and make reports about it), but I work from home so I dont have the added expense of commuting and a bunch of work clothes. I make 40K. My wife is a nurse and makes 75K+. We dont have much extra each month, but the Jeep brings joy to the whole family so its worth the $$$. If my kids and wife didnt love it as much as I do, Id sell it and save money. I spent 3k in aftermarket on a 2012 Rubi. Im done with mods. Now my money goes towards house projects.

9 months on Cell Block 75. Sea pay, Flight deck pay, hazardous duty, and tax free add up. I had almost 14k saved up by the time we got home. My mods are definitely slowing down now though.

Engineering Director - Nike Digital.

Very lucky to have a wife that supports my (our) Jeeping addiction. She send me links to cool Jeep stuff saying "you should get this" ... But she is also the one that says "come on... don't be a wimp and go for that double black diamond". So I blame her when stuff breaks

I currently make pretty decent $$, my wife has been working part time the last 2 years due to school and I have two kids, one that has a lot of medical bills. So I have a total of about $500 of mods I've installed over the last 2.5 years. lol.
