No it not the "yellow thing" that is your oil filter. The pulley is in picture 4 above the oil pan, to the right of your oil filter. If the fluid smells sweet it antifreeze.

doesnt smell like anything. im gonna whip it clean with a rag and see exactly where its coming from. then ill take pics of it and post it up to show you. is that a good idea?

no it doesnt smell sweet :( but oh the pulley is the spinning thing?? ill take pics of it now

Open the hood and try to look between the fan and the front engine cover. If there are any trails going down it may be from something up top.

But looking at the residue on the filter and oil pan, it looks like oil. You may have a front main leak. Warranty it.

Check those tranny lines too where they are near the radiator.

Default Warping water pump.

I had the same sort of leak. It was coming from the water pump from the front of the engine. There are some issues with the pump housing warping and the seal leaking. I replaced mine with some difficulty but eventually worked out well. Parts were only $15-$20. Jeep should cover it if it is still under warrantee. Let me know if you want me to take pictures of what I am talking about. Hope it helps.

Clean the whole engine - and check for new fluid/links after.

yeah it seems like oil to me too. what is a front main leak, and where is it at?? i lifted my jeep so i think i lost the worrenty :(

okay this sounds like a good idea! what is the best way to clean the whole engine? ... spray it down with water??
