I just plugged the holes using rubber stoppers from ace hardware. Looks OK and the whistle is gone. And it was cheap! Thanks all for your help/suggestions.

Mines whistling as well. Thinkin about cutting the bottom out of the gusset and putting plexy on both sides lit with some color led and making the bottom piece bolt in.
