Default Will running wheel spacers with a leveling kit be a problem?

Until I can change tires to 35s and get a 2.5in real lift, I'm installing the TF leveling kit (2in spacers front, 1in rear). So will running 1.5in wheel spacers hurt me in any way with factory Rubi tires and wheels? I figured a widen stance will help offset some of the handling issues with increased COG.

BTW: what kind of grease do I shoot into the TF sway extensions and with what?

I know this is for the 2.5 BB
TERAFLEX UPDATE: “With our longer shocks or shock extensions the factory left rear tire may rub on the sway bar at full droop. The tire will not rub at normal ride height. To take full advantage of the Budget Boost suspension travel, wheel spacers or after market wheels are required.”

nope. it would be no different than running aftermarket wheels with less backspacing.

well, thats exactly the setup i'm running now. 32" bfg's, with the teraflex levelling kit and 1.25" spacers. And yes, they will definitely correct the body roll. I put them on after the teraflex kit and it fixed the extra roll i was getting

Default TF and Spidertrax

Here are a few shots of my Jeep with the Teraflex JK 1.5" leveling kit and Spidertrax 1.5" wheel spacers. I kept the stock wheels and had them powder coated. It pushes the wheels out perfectly so the edge of the tread is still under the fender and legal here in PA.

It is a little different than running wheels with the correct backspacing. You have to locktite the nuts on the spacer and still go back to re-check / re-torque every so often. I found out the hard way on an old Ford XL390 when we used spacers to adapt to a set of wheels rather than changing to the correct spacing. Coming to a stop sign at about 15 MPH the right rear tore through the quarter panel and passed me by. Pretty bad day. Loved the car, but being a teenager, with all the other problems (rust, someone had changed the tranny out for an FMX, the top was shredded and the interior had suffered too many unintentional baths) before I bought it as a first stab with a project car. I haven't been able to look at spacers the same since. Just my $0.02.

I would think they'd come loose before completely off. That's a bad horror story, but eventually I'll upgrade the wheels and tires.

I'm getting the alignment checked now. The spacers (both boost and wheel) look really good compared to stock. Even the dealer I'm at has this stuff (wheel spacers); though they are Really marked up.

So glad that I did this on my own. It took me 4-5 hours yesterday afternoon, but that was not too bad for one set of hands and no prior experience. The only problem I had was the new Teraflex bolts on the sway bar connects were a real PITA to get through the old hole. They are just a hair too big and needed some massaging with a hammer and some wood to soften the blows. Anyway, pics when its all done and aligned. Thanks for the advice on doing it myself. Turned out great.

Well the drive is at an angle, but it sits level on flat land. And rides like stock. This should hold me while I burn these tires up.
I now have the confidence that I can do a lift myself when the time comes.

This looks awesome and is exactly what I've been thinking of doing to my Silver Rubi....... a couple of questions though.

What spacers did you use for the wheels?

Also, do you have pics from the front or back that show how far the wheels were moved out from stock?

Thanks,
Dwight
