My XRC8 works fine for me with my 2 door. It has got me or others out every time it was used including pulling out 4 doors.

So get the one that fits your budget and you will be fine.

If you buy directly from 4WD you can also get a lifetime warranty for about $50 bucks at least you could last year.

Where did you get it for $299.00 with free shipping. Quadratec has it for $284.00 but $340.00 after you add the shipping and a $20.00 shipping and handling charge....

I even interviewed a Warn exec/engineer who gave me his 25 years of Warn input & experience. not just people saying 'Warn is best,' but actual facts & details.

then get a winch kit (including snatch block) cause u really need it.
So what advantages does a steel line have over a syn. line. Are u saying that I would be better off with the steel line...I thought the syn line would be better, plus it is lighter then a steel line.

Another AMEN for the Warn M8000. You can't beat it for the price. I research everything and could not beat this winch for quality, reliability and price. I called companies like Ramsey, Smittybuilt, MileMarker and Superwinch looking for help with parts (that I didn't really need) to see how their customer service was. NO CONTEST! Smittybuilt admitted to me that they didn't even make the winch so parts were going to be a pain to get
Buy American, go Warn or Ramsey. Save an American job and buy a winch that won't rust out on you.
Can you get more pulling force for the dollar by buying a Chinese winch like the Smittybuilt? Perhaps, but you won't need it. The M8000 Warn can pull any Jeep I've ever seen. If you want to double it's pull rating, just carry a winch pully with your gear. Just my 2 cents

The thing about Warn is they test their stuff. There are no uniform industry standards, but Warn says their 8,000lb winch will REALLY pull 8,000 lbs. They also say their patented braking design will hold the full 8,000lbs (or whatever winch you have) whereas other winches' brakes don't hold the full load capacity. Translation: if your Jeep is hanging by a thread, so to speak, in a dangerous position, you want the Warn!

Very good points, but my issue here is I have a budget of about $1800.00 dollars and am trying to spread my money out over 4 thinks i want to get for my jeep. Wheels (cragar soft 8) Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier (Smittybilt XRC) Lift (Rough Country 3.25") and Winch (Smittybilt 8000lb with syn line). Now i can get all this deliverd to my door for just under $1900. So I am $100.00 over my budget. I think for what I will be doing, and as many times as I will need the winch, in order to fit my budget and stick to my plan, the smittybilt seems to be the way to go. Yes I would like a Warn, a warn 9.5 and I could If i wanted to blow my budget on a winch, but thats not what i want to do. I am trying to stick to my guns and hopefully all will be good....
