I have a Superwinch LP10000 and like it. It is not really fast, but not as slow as some. It came with a steel cable, but works wonderfully for where I wheel. The only thing I can really suggest is get at least a 10k winch, it's nice knowing you have the extra power. All of the brands mentioned wont let you down.

That being said, save some cash for accessories, like a snatch block, line extension, extra shackles, tree saver, gloves, a bag to hold all this, etc.

I'm not a hard core wincher, but the power I have and the accessories I have make it easy, fairly quick and I feel sure of myself. That's priceless!

I've got a Warn M8000. It's a nice basic winch. I bought mine from Dave at Northridge and got a $50 rebate.

Default Bump for more winch suggestions

So far I'm still undecided betwen Warn, Superwinch, Recon, and Engo. I still have a little bit of time, so I would like to get some more feedback on what everyone else is running. Thanks for all the input.

Default Warn!

I just got a warn m8000, it came with a free wireless control and free shipping ($579 after $50 rebate). Once my bumper is ready I will be installing it. I would go with a warn, they are known for quality and have a decent warranty to back them. My brother has a warn winch from the 70's that still works great. Just pay a little extra and get the best!

I have a 78 FJ40 on which I installed the Warn 8274 winch. I have used that winch many times without any failures so on my 12 Rubi, I installed another Warn winch (9.5cti) because you can't argue with success.

Where did you get it from?

Recon 17,500lb winch with all your accessories for $495
