Winter Off-road tire

I am just saying thats the air pressure they are designed to run at. But running them at a lower air pressure, there is a good chance they will not wear evenly. The outside will most likely end up wearing faster than the center.

Tire rack has them for $210 per tire. And most tire shops should only charge 30-40 bucks to mount all of them.

I'm debating between the duratracs and their dunlop cousin the Rover M/T Maxx Traction. THe dunlop looks a little more aggressive for off road and it's a bit cheaper.

...and, now that I see these Duratracks, I might get a set for winter driving because these destination MT's I have suck balls up here in winter...un-studded that is (...wish i studded them now)

Checked them out first. Im in Canada...........Exchange rate and customs make them quite a bit higher. Also checked out Discount Tire. Here's what I got.....................
We do offer JK members $50.00 off their total with the purchase of 5 tires Also, shipping is free into Canada and we charge the Custom's Fee's up front which are then paid to UPS International. This speeds up delivery time and ensures no further charger to you. Here's the price breakdown:
285/70-17 DuraTrac - $229.00 each
Shipping - Free
LT/SUV Custom's Fee - $60.00 per tire
Total: $1156.00 US pricing of course and for only 4 tires.

...well, that done makes up my mind...definately getting baby a new set of shoes when these Firestones blow()...the destinations have served me well when needed...but I'm just not in the mud enough to justify running them year round, and those DuraTracs keep the good looks of sporting aggressive tires....nice ride by the way JKCarney

Has anyone tried Cooper Discover M+S tires? They have a lot of sipes, and look like they should be great in the ice and snow on the road, but what about offroad. Do they get chewed up? Anybody try them?

I have a full set, (5 tires & wheels), of dedicated snow tires that I use winter here in New England, where I run into a combination of dry, slush, icy and deep snow covered roads. I use Nokian Hakkapelitta 5 SUV tires without studs. In all but VERY deep snow (over two feet), I have not been disappointed. The only drawback, as with any good product, is that they are expensive, even though they are the same size as the tires on the stock 17" wheels.
