Default yes another MPG thread

I had a 2010 6spd. unlimited Rubi with XHD front bumper, skid plates, 35"s, etc and was doing anywhere between 15-18 MPG
Now with my 2012 auto 2dr i'm getting 13 MPG - WTF?
is it because i need to break in my engine?
other thoughts?
still running the same 35''s and lift

The ultimate fail on your part was getting the AUTO TRANS. If we over look that part have you used AEV Procal to correct the tire size? Also what Gears are you running 3.73 or 4.10? That has a big say in how well your MPG is going to be.

Is your speedo calibrated for those 35's? Whats your gearing? There are a few factors, gearing, different transmission gearing in 2012+ compared to the older JKs.

I'm getting around 16mpg in a JKU '12 auto w/ 4.56 gears 35"s, lots of armor, heavy bumpers, sliders, winch, and trail gear.

4.10s with a superchips tow tune in my 2010 vs. 4.10s with the procal for the tire size on my 2012.

Hmm. Yes it will improve a bit as you break in the new engine. Another question i have is: are they the same exact wheels and tires?
Are you gassing her more with the added power of the new engine? It may not seem like you are, but you might be surprised to realize you are. Just my .02

Make sure you're calculating your mpg and not relying on the dashboard to tell you your mpg...it LIES!!!

I actually drive it softer than I did my 2010. I used to drive it like I stole it 50% of the time. I admit to pushing the new one a few times, bit not consistently. I haven't calculated it manually yet but I find I'm putting gas in more often than I should or used to. the computer on my 2010 was spot on when calculating the mpg so I'm guessing this one is as well. Will check to be sure. Same exact tires with stock rims as prev jeep. So no change there. I just figured with the new engine and the fact it weighs less as its a 2 Dr would mean less consumption. But what do I know?
