Well, not going to lie, you will probably be disappointed in the availability of trails out here. But with that said, while we don;t have mountains and mountains of trails, we do have several private property locations that offer a good amount of trails to challenge any one from beginners to extreme buggies. Most are only accessible if you are in a club so you will need to check out a site like the Northeast Association of 4Wd clubs for clubs in the area.

The two most popular places right now are Field and Forest (which is privately owned and available to NEA clubs) and a place called LMFT which recently bought several pieces of private trails. Access to that is more open compared to other trails. Both places offer some of the best wheeling in the Northeast (both are actaully in NH).

There are plenty of other places as well but, again, you really need to be in a club or you are probably wheeling illegally since there are no real "public" spots other than a few unmaintained roads.

When you get here, post up and we will see about organizing a trail run to one of the few public places. Fun trail, mostly rock and ledge climbs.

Finally arrived, think my freshly painted diff covers took a beating on the cross country drive. Will have to touch up. Can you drive on any of the beaches without having to buy a beach/orv permit?

Nope. You will need a permit for most/all. And a lot of beaches don't allow any vehicles. I think the two biggest I hear about all the time where people go are Duxbury beach and Sandy Neck.

My wife bought a pass for the Duxbury Beach for her jeep... and she never used it because of some endangered bird nesting there, so no one was allowed on a large amount on the beach. I think it cost $220... They said the reason its so high is to limit the amount of vehicles on the beach, but thats mostly BS because they only allow so many on anyway...

Unfortunately it happens every year... Some years are worse with the closures than others. Non resident pass is now up to $295 (may be higher this year?) it depends on how you use the beach as to how the closures affect you. I'm out there 3-4 times a week year round, but I typically steer clear of weekend days (campfires at night can occasionally get crowded too). Still a good time if you're going to use it frequently.

I'm going to try and get the wife down there in the next few weekends. I didn't buy her the air setup so will have to bring both jeeps so I can air her back up afterwards but it would be fun to go down now I suppose.

Sandy Neck has similar issues. Your allowed to drive down to the 4.5 mile mark. That said most of the summer your limited to maybe a mile because of some stupid endangered birds. I think it's all B.S. There are critically endangered turtles out there hatching soon and they never close it for them. Personally I think it's a form of crowd control. They allow campers out there. With all of them, a lot of them drinking all day and night plus us day trippers it can become an issue for them. The amount of money we pay more than covers them for additional partol units should theu ever need it.

The trick folks is to be here in Florida. There are numerous places where you can pull off the road and park/drive the Jeep right to the water and fish/swim/whatnot. I watched every year when people would get frustrated with the Duxbury beach permit issue. Not really a problem down here....
